¡Ufff! ¿quién iba a imaginarlo entonces?

Escuchémolos ahora y confirmemos, como bien lo decía Neil Young: 'Rock'n'roll will never die'.

Dave Mason
26 Letters 12 Notes (2008)

No solamente fue parte de Traffic, banda para la cual compuso, entre otras, ’Feelin’ Alright?’, ‘Vagabond Virgin’, ‘You Can All Join In’, ‘Hole In My Shoe’ y ‘Just For You, entre otras.

Además de su carrera como solista que incluye rolas como ’Only You Know And I Know’, ‘Sad And Deep As You’, ‘Waitin' on You ‘, ‘Headkeeper’, ‘Every Woman’, ‘Split Coconut’, ‘Let It Go, Let It Flow ‘, ‘So High (Rock Me Baby and Roll Me Away) ‘, ‘We Just Disagree’, ‘Paralyzed’, ha tocado y grabado con Paul McCartney, George Harrison, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Graham Nash, Michael Jackson, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Steve Winwood, Fleetwood Mac, Delaney Bramlett, y Cass Elliot, casi nada.

Goin' crazy in the prison cell
My own makin' and my own hell
I'm down on the killing floor
I gotta tell ya I can't take no more

Let me go, before someone's hurt
Let me go, don't drag us through the dirt
Let me go, so that we can mend
Let me go, and maybe we'll be friends

Fast cars, fast girls
you'll need more money than there's, cash to burn
Keep on pretendin' baby, day to day
Its getting worse with every word you say

From the day I laid my eyes on you,
Guess we were loosing from the start,
It seems we're never gonna see this through
So I've gotta tell you darlin', I've gotta tell you true,
Let me go.

Let me go, before someone's hurt
Let me go, don't drag us through the dirt
Let me go, so that we can mend
Let me go, and maybe we'll be friends

You know I love you though we're not the same
There ain't no right or wrong or who's to blame
We want different things and thats OK
Let's make it easy and just walk away
Let me go, before someone's hurt
Let me go, don't drag us through the dirt
Let me go, so that we can mend
Let me go, and maybe we'll be friends

Y Not (2010)

Talkin' on the telephone
Nothin' to say
Empty conversation
Headin' my way

Pointin' the finger
Placin' the blame
Tired of bein' negative
Sick of the pain

Faded to action
Fill in the blanks
No more distraction
Thanks but no thanks
Fill in the blanks

Just an empty feelin'
Searchin' my soul
Change of disposition
Reachin' a goal

Need some direction
Which way to go
Make a connection
Just go with the flow

Faded to action
Fill in the blanks
Faded to action
Fill in the blanks

No more distractions
Thanks but no thanks
Fill in the blanks

Can you feel a wind blowing, got me talking to myself
One more day, one more truth, got to find out where
Feel the blow of the river taking me there
Good Lord only get you so far, then you got to help yourself
I don’t need no reason, reason to hang my head

Cause I gotta get over
Get on over to the good side
Lord I gotta get over
Get over, you get a lil' closer
I gotta get over
Getting closer to the good side
Gotta get over
Getting over, over

I've been breaking like the waves upon the sand
You know I need some fortitude, gonna keep it close at hand
And I gotta shake it if I’m gonna break it on down the line
Ain't nobody can help me if I stay helpless all the time

I gotta get over
Get on over to the good side
Gotta get over
Help me get a little closer
I gotta get over
Getting closer to the good side
Lord I gotta get over,
Getting over, over.

The Next Day (2013)

David Robert Jones, del 08 de enero de 1947
Today, today is the 1st of May
Everything around us
Everything a lie
Your hearts beating fast
As we race through the dark
Past the really good people
Who do what they’re told

What will be my name
In the USA?
Hold my hand and
I’ll take you there
Who will I become
In the USA?
Hold my hand and
I’ll take you there

Sophie and Lev are running away
These are the days
The days of gloom
Lev can’t smile and Sophie can’t sing
A mile to the future
Where tomorrow is king

What will be my name
In the USA?
Hold my hand and
I’ll take you there
Who will I become
In the USA?
Hold my hand and
I’ll take you there

I don’t need to know
Know where you are
Only that you are
Safe in this world
Then I’ll be content
To get on with my life
Eat, drink and sleep
Look up at the stars

What will be my name
In the USA?
Hold my hand and
I’ll take you there
Who will I become
In the USA?
Hold my hand and
I’ll take you there

What will be my name
In the USA?
Hold my hand and
I’ll take you there
Who will I become
In the USA?
Hold my hand and
I’ll take you there

Listen to my heartbeat
Yeah, all fall down
Someone help me off of the ground
Listen to my heartbeat
Yeah, all fall down
Someone help me off of the ground

Nelson and Starr
He's got ten grandkids, she's the third missus
He grooves around intensive care
Strutting his stuff

He's got the perfect mullet hanging down his back
And Starr walks in, gives a little wiggle
Makes old Nelson grin
He tucks me in, touches my feet
"Hey buddy, you know you got a slow heartbeat"

Listen to my heartbeat
Yeah, listen to my heartbeat
And the marching band plays along
Plays the morphine song on charity ward
Yeah, the marching band plays its song

Yeah, all fall down
Someone help me off of the ground
Yeah, all fall down
Someone help me off of the ground

And opposite me Brenda the alkie coughs so deep
It's the drugs and the drink, it could happen to anyone
Sure makes me think
And the bed beside her is full of cables and leaves
Nobody visits, nobody grieves

Listen to my heartbeat
Yeah, listen to my heartbeat

Nelson and Starr
He's got ten grandkids, she's the third missus
Starr takes some blood out of my arm
Rolls me over just like that

Listen to my heartbeat, slow but clean
While Brenda the alkie looks so mean
They wheel her out, she starts to cry
"If I don't get better, I'm gonna die
I'll go cold turkey till I'm clean
I'll go to jail but you get the morphine"

Listen to my heartbeat
Yeah, listen to my heartbeat
And the marching band song
Plays in the morgue at the charity ward
Yeah, the marching band plays its song

Yeah, all fall down
Someone help me off of the ground
Listen to my heartbeat
Yeah, all fall down
Someone help me off of the ground

Black night down heavy on my weary brow
Light shining in the pouring rain
Can see somehow cold comfort in the broken trees
But I won't let it bring me to my knees
I'm not flying, but I'm not drowning now

Keep driving, don't matter if the highway's lost
Keep running, never turn your head
Count the cost ghost waiting where the roads all cross
Big deal waiting when you get to meet the boss
Clouds are breaking, I'm not drowning now
Drowning now..

Flying, but I'm not drowning now..

Sad old man smiling with a shameful grin
He thinks that we never can lose
Never beat the dealer when he cuts the pack
First back to front, then deal front to back
Now I'm flying, I'm not drowning now...

Don't Look At Me
It's Way Too Soon,
Too See
What's Gonna Be
Don't Look At Me

All My Life
I Never Knew
What I Could Be
What I Could Do
Then We Where New

Oooooooo!!!

You Came Along
And Made
My Life
A Song
One Lucky Day
You Came Along

Just In Time
While I Was Searching
For A Rhyme
You Came Along
Then We Where New

Oooooooo!!!

We Can Do What We Want
We Can Live As We Choose
You See There's No Guarantee
We Got Nothing To Lose

Don't Look At Me
I Can't
Deny
The Truth
It's Plain To See,
Don't Look At Me

All My Life
I Never Knew
What I Could Be
What I Could Do
Then We Where New

Oooooooo!!!

We Can Do What We Want
We Can Live As We Choose
You See There's No Guarantee

His wisdom flowed from Heaven's Book
Just like threaded pearls
Just like threaded pearls
He left his self to flee to God
And God sent him back to us

He was born to be the beloved
A will of the Divine
He was born to be the beloved
He was born to guide

He prayed all his nights alone
And stars and angels sighed
And in the day, he lead the way
With blazing words so bright

He was born to be the beloved
A will of the Divine
He was born to be the beloved
He was born to be kind

He taught the people to worship
Bowing to one God, bowing to one God
His mercy stretched from east to west
To every man, woman and child

He was born to be the beloved
A will of the Divine
He was born to be the beloved
Nature sublime

He opened up the doors of love
For every heart parched with thirst
He was a mercy to the words
And unto the human births

He was born to be the beloved
A will of the Divine
He was born to be the beloved
He was born to guide

Oh yeah

Didn't take nothing that I didn't need
'Cause they didn't offer classes in what I want to be
They didn't offer manhood responsibility
Had to learn it the hard way, earn my degree in the streets

Graduated from hard knocks, I got my education
And hard knocks cared a little about the situation
Hard knocks, got the bumps and the bruises to prove it
Hard knocks

Can't bust through the ceiling without feeling the burn
And I ain't got nothing that I didn't earn
Chasing that dollar, still hitting the books
Studying Donnie and Stevie, I learn to sail the hooks

Talk about those hard knocks, got the bumps and the bruises to prove it
Hard knocks, got the rhyme and the reason to choose it
Hard knocks out on the streets
Hard knocks

Had a real good teacher named Mr. Life
Didn't teach no chemistry but he taught me how to fight
Didn't teach biology but I learned it from the birds and the bees
Said stay close to your friends, closer to your enemies

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's right
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah that's right
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, so right

I graduated from hard knocks, I got my education
And hard knocks getting in and out of situations
Hard knocks, got the bumps and the bruises to prove it
Hard knocks, oh Lord

Feeling at my soul, all the heads in pain
From my hard knocks
I've got the bumps and the bruises to prove it
Deep inside, oh yeah

The finest woman that I've ever known
